MISSISSIPPI LIBRARY ASSOCIATION

Edward Ransdell Instructional Television Award

Sponsored by the Mississippi Library Association

This award is no longer awarded.

The School Libraries Section selects and presents the Edward Ransdell Instructional Television Award for the purpose of recognizing outstanding accomplishment in the field of instructional television and to encourage effective use of instructional television in Mississippi. When Edward Ransdell retired from Mississippi Authority for Educational Television in 1983, Clarence Vogel, a friend of Ed’s and Owner of Delta Electronics, wanted to do something in his honor in a way that would be a long-lasting tribute to Ed’s outstanding work. The award is underwritten by Delta Electronics of Jackson, Mississippi. Two $250 cash awards are givenundefinedone to an administrator and the other to a teacher or a library media specialist on the building level whose work has led to exemplary accomplishments in the development and use of instructional television. MLA members may submit nominations for this award to the current school library section chair. See the Section Officers list to find the current school library section chair.
