MISSISSIPPI LIBRARY ASSOCIATION

Social Justice Round Table

The Social Justice Round Table will provide information in the areas of equity, diversity, inclusion, and social justice.  Round Table activities could include:

  • Making recommendations for integrating Social Justice content into MLA programs;
  • Elevating successful libraries as models to generate and share best practices;
  • Identifying ways MLA might influence equity and inclusion within Mississippi libraries; and
  • Helping libraries serve diverse communities and staff.

SJRT will share relevant information to the members of SJRT and the general membership via the MLA listserv and/or other electronic communication about news from around Mississippi. SJRT will also monitor national and state library news to share with the general and the roundtable membership.   This roundtable will seek to provide a voice to the issues and a visible presence at library activities, such as the annual state library conference.

Visit the SJRT Facebook page for more information and discussion!
