The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) Libraries invite applications for two exciting opportunities: Research and Education Informationist and Research Impact Informationist. These positions offer a chance to work in a dynamic, team-oriented environment dedicated to advancing research, education, and clinical practice at MUSC.
Research and Education Informationist
The Research and Education Informationist will provide research and knowledge management services to students and faculty from the College of Graduate Studies and selected programs within the College of Health Professions. Reporting to the Associate Director, this position operates in a highly collaborative, team-oriented environment. Responsibilities include expert literature searching, instruction, research consultations, and community engagement to support MUSC students, faculty, and staff in the health sciences. ALA-accredited master’s degree in library scienceor an advanced degree in the basic sciencesrequired.
- Salary: commensurate with education and experience, with a minimum salary of $60,000.
Research Impact Informationist
The Research Impact Informationist will lead the development of the library’s research impact services program, with a focus on scholarly output, bibliometrics, and research impact assessment. Reporting to the Associate Director, this position will work closely the Office of Research, the South Carolina Clinical & Translational Research (SCTR) Institute, MUSC Libraries, and other campus partners to support and enhance research impact services. An ALA-accredited master’s degree in library science or an advanced degree in informatics, data science, health sciences, statistics, biological, life, or physical sciences.
- Salary: commensurate with education and experience, with a minimum salary of $70,000.
Faculty Rank & Work Environment: The faculty rank for both positions is open. MUSC faculty members work hybrid schedules as appropriate for their roles.
