Southeastern Louisiana University's Sims Memorial Library invites applications for the full-time tenure-track assistant professor position of Systems & Discovery Librarian. Reporting to the Head of Cataloging, the Systems & Discovery Librarian is responsible for the administration of the Library Services Platform (LSP) and will lead the migration from SirsiDynix Symphony to Ex Libris Alma/Primo. The position will also serve as primary sys-admin liaison to the LOUIS Consortium (which entails biannual travel to other cities within the state). In addition the Systems Librarian will perform configuration and customization needed in the Alma/Primo system; manage future upgrades; serve as a liaison with the University Office of Technology on LSP related matters; and work with the alternate system administrator to provide technical support & training to Library staff on the use of Alma, and other technologies. Other duties will include serving as liaison to selected academic departments, and fulfilling all accomplishments & professional activity required for tenure and promotion. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master degree from an ALA accredited library or information science program REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: 1-3 years of library experience.
